چکیده

UNLABELLED With the popularization of new imaging technology, more people are deciding to undergo non-invasive studies such as multidetector computerized tomography (MDCT) before receiving coronary angiography. For this reason, coronary anomalies of coronary artery are being encountered more frequently. We here report a 68-year-old male presenting with typical angina. The MDCT images suggested chronic total occlusion of the left anterior descending (LAD) artery with collateral circulation from the right coronary artery (RCA). The patient's coronary angiography showed a congenital coronary anomaly with a single dominant RCA supplying the entire coronary circulation of the heart with both LAD and left circumflex artery hypoplasia. KEY WORDS Angiography; Anomaly; Computerized tomography; Coronary artery.

Congenital Absence of Left Circumflex Coronary Artery

Congenital absence of left circumflex artery is a rare congenital anomaly of the coronary arteries. The prevalence of the anomaly in different studies ranges from 0.6% to 1.3%. Of these, 80% are benign and asymptomatic and 20% are clinically important. We report a 56-year-old man presented with acute resting chest pain who was diagnosed as having acute anterolateral infarction accompanied by el...

Clinical Implications of Congenital Absence of Circumflex Coronary Artery

Introduction: Coronary artery anomalies are rare clinical entities reported in 0.6% to 5.6% of diagnostic coronary angiographies. Anomalous origins of coronary arteries from distal segments are rarely reported. Presented herein is a coronary anomaly in which the circumflex artery (CX) originated as a continuation of the posterolateral branch of the right coronary artery (RCA) w...

CongenItal Anomallous Origin of Left Anterior Descending Artery from RIight Coronary Artery

Congenital anomalies of the coronary arteries have been a known subject  since the advent of cardiac angiography, and has been a subject of special interest by both cardiologists and cardiac surgeons,  We have tried in this article to present a case of anomalous origin of LAD from RCA (RMT) in a 55 year old lady (Mrs. B.J.) and to completely discuss this subject. It's worthmentioning that thi...

Single dominant left coronary artery: An autopsy case report with review of literature

Coronary artery anomalous course is rare, reported incidence is approximately 0.3-1.3% of patients undergoing coronary angiography and approximately 1% of routine autopsy examinations. A single coronary artery is an unusual congenital anomaly where only one coronary artery arises from the aortic trunk from a single coronary ostium, supplying the entire heart. We describe here a rare case with a...

Association Between Left Anterior Descending Artery Length with Coronary Artery Dominance: An Angiographic Study

Introduction: Although left anterior descending (LAD) artery supplies a large portion of the myocardium, the amount of blood supply provided by LAD is depended on the length of the LAD. The aim of the current study was to evaluate the association between coronary artery dominance and LAD anatomic types in patients with normal epicardial coronary arteries. Methods:...
